Radical, Invincible Trust
mary dwyer reminds us that trust doesn’t begin when fear disappears ... it all begins when we take one small step ... and then another ... toward what is already here.
“All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of thing shall be well.”
-Julian of Norwich
Trust is easy to talk about.
Practicing trust is another matter.
Today, mary dwyer reminds us that trust doesn’t begin when fear disappears. It begins when we take one small step toward what is already here.
One breath.
One feeling.
One moment.
One simple “yes.”
Radical, Invincible Trust
by mary dwyer
I need to trust. The funny thing about trust is the only way to get more of it is to PRACTICE with the little bit I have.
So, as I move into my body and feel what I’m feeling, I am actually practicing TRUST … that it won’t kill me, that I’m really not alone, that YOU really are present, that ‘it will all be well’ one way or the other.
This journey is magnificent, but I need to always remember it is made one little step at a time.. I am called to be as present as possible to ME …
MY LIVING EXPERIENCE. That is where real terror resides.
Can I really trust that I am enough, just as I am.
Well, here goes:
Breath/Feel Into ME/this body
Welcome what I am experiencing in THIS MOMENT in THIS BODY
And Let Go.
Let go of what? … my attachments and aversions to how life is manifesting right now.
I want Security and Affection and Control on MY TERMS … but Spirit is obviously indicating we are going in another direction. So, embrace this moment just as it is.
Simple really.
A BIG YES to life on life’s terms … just for today … one day at a time.
Keep smiling Sweet Pea!
Closing Reflection
Perhaps trust is not the absence of fear.
Perhaps trust is staying present with fear and not allowing your heart to close its eye.
To breathe.
To feel.
To welcome.
To let go.
Again and again.
Not because we know tomorrow, but because God is already (t)here.
… G—O—D—I—S—N—O—W—H—E—R—E …
NOW … HERE … may you find the courage you need.
NOW … HERE … may your heart become a place of clarity.
NOW … HERE … may each breath deepen your trust.
And when life asks more of you than you expected,
… may you whisper mary’s simple prayer:
“Yes.”
Just for today.
One breath at a time.

How can we be people of hope in the midst of so much brokenness and despair?
By being courageous enough to enter this present experience in our own bodies
right here, right now.
